A weather station on
the garden shed.
A Davis Vantage Pro 2 hangs on the wall of the shed in the garden, at two metres up. Wind speed and direction are measured separately on a four-metre mast. Every few seconds the station logs temperature, humidity, wind, rainfall and barometric pressure. The data feeds EMSN: that way I know under which conditions a bird sings or stays quiet.
But it is also just nice to look at.
Just measured.
Every reading from the Davis weather station appears here right away. Outdoor temperature, humidity, wind, pressure and today's rain total. It matches the cadence of roughly one reading per minute.

Davis Vantage Pro 2, a hobbyist-favourite weather station that has been hanging on the wall of the shed in the garden since 2025. The data is read by EMSN-Meteo and forwarded to the central database, where all the acoustic data also comes together. That way every detection can later be linked to the weather conditions of that moment.
